Pacific Northwest Premier Mobile Motorcycle Dyno Tuner

Hondas respond very well to aftermarket engine management. They are an incredible machine that has been limited from the factory for sound and emissions regulations. Removing those restrictions can turn a very tame motorcycle into one of the best designed machines available.

On the CBR1000RR’s there is a timing restriction based on throttle position, where anything in the high rpm range has been retarded. Dynojet and other companies provide a throttle position sensor manipulator that removes these restrictions and when adjusted properly, you get a perfect power curve. When used in conjunction with a lightweight hi flowing exhaust and proper fueling, through a PowerCommander or Bazzaz unit, we have seen improvements upwards of 15hp to the wheel. All of these things together on a 2008 cbr1k with a slip on exhaust, dynojet throttle position sensor manipulator and PowerCommander, all clibrated together and adjusted on the dyno, makes 165hp and 82ft lb torque a very real figure.

ECUnleashed also provides a new flash for these bikes which obtain all of the same things through a single flash instead of using piggy back devices. Sometimes using ECUnleashed and engine management devices is necessary, each customer situation is a little bit different.
With the CBR600RR’s follow the same rules except a throttle position sensor manipulator is not necessary. A proper hi flow lightweight exhaust and appropriate fuel makes a world of difference. we see standard increases of 8-10hp to the wheel with a proper fuel management device.

We tune all Honda models, the VTX series is very popular. A PowerCommander is probably the best user friendly and highest resolution device to tune the VTX series. They always have a great response with a proper custom map. Depending upon exhaust systems, individual cylinder balancing is required but is a very easy thing to complete with the PowerCommander unit.

VFR’s also respond very well from a custom dyno tune. The peak hp numbers aren’t typically what we’re looking for on that bike and we only see an average of 2-5hp peak gain but the part throttle ride ability and v-tec changeover can be perfectly smoothed. All of these adjustments improve throttle response, fuel economy, ride ability and hp, truly making the bike feel like your wrist is connected to the back tire.

Honda Ruckus tuning is available, we’ve worked directly with Steve at Killer Scooter helping to develop the technology to tune these. Please call with individual applications.

    I have 2008 1800 vtx f
with the smog removed and opened up exhaust and a power commander it was on the bike when I bought the bike so I have no idea what tune it has but I think it rich and I don’t have a decel pop
I was wondering how much and how long it takes. I live in Ridgefield Wash and would need to take the day to come up there

    • Hello Brad, we are actually coming down to Vancouver/Portland area to do a dyno weekend March 15-17th, might save you the trip if you can make it. We would love to take a look at your bike for you, prices vary depending on the situation. Give me a call at 425-269-5332! Thanks, Nels.

I have a 2012 cbr250r with a slip on and a Dynojet Fuel Controller. Is a header and/or power commander really needed or can there be improved performance with just what I have?

    February 26, 2014 at 6:48 PM

    • Best bet is to put it on the dyno and see what it’s doing now and then we can see where we can improve it. Give me a call at 425-269-5332 and we can discuss it further.

    Hi Brad,

    • You’ll need a bazzaz unit for it which you can buy online, it comes with everything needed in the kit and it gets great results with your bike. The install takes a few hours on that bike but once it’s installed the tune is really fast and only $175. For the install, you can install it, or you can have us install it, and it’ll be about 3 hours of shop time for the install, then the $175 for the dyno time on top of the install costs

I just purchased a VTX 1800 with vance and hines pipes the air box has had the snorkel and unit next to it removed so opened up around 30% more and K&N filter.
Bike has 64000 miles on it and will have a new fuel pressure regulator.

It did not have a fuel processor on it and drive ability sucked lots of low end surging, I just installed a power commander 5 on it and all of the maps I tried had me smelling raw fuel and MPG was around 29

I want good power but also good mpg since I tend to do 3000 mile road trips at the drop of a hat.

what would be best a dual map for the power commander or a reflash of the ECU
    I live in SeaTac

    • Thank you for the message. I would love to help. The power commander is all you will need to complete a proper individual cylinder tune and dual map. Cost will be between $225-275 depending on what we can get accomplished. Please call at 425-269-5332 when you get an opportunity, to go over a few details. Thanks, Nels

Nels got my tune done for me and it rocks.
I have a dual map and tweaked some of the settings per his instruction and with quality fuel 87 octane I am getting 40 mpg on the interstate doing 65-75 and on the back roads just putting along 55-65 I got 47
    This is with a VTX 1800 2003 S

    What do u recommend for a CBR929rr?
My bike has a bolt on can with the htv exhaust valve still in place. There’s not much still available for these bikes, but I have an Erion Full system and pc111r that need to be installed.
Do u recommend keeping the stock pipe with the pc111 or putting on the Erion with the pc111?
It runs hot now, so I know it’s lean.

    June 8, 2015 at 4:08 PM

    • With the power commander we can dial it in to whatever you want, stock or erion system. The full system will net better results and the pc3 will give us the tunability we need to get it running smooth and strong!

        Hey Nels,

Thanks for the reply. The PC I have for it is the PC 111r which i noticed has a serial port input (no usb).
Everyone tells me that I should ditch it and get a newer PC, but i can’t see a reason if it works. Can you still access it through the serial port to get a proper map loaded in it?

        June 15, 2015 at 2:32 PM

      • A new PC would be necessary. The reliability of the older units makes it inadvisable to use.

    Hi Nels,
I need to tune the cbr 929 asap, but I need to know if I need to get another PC or if you can properly tune it with the PC111r with serial port (apparently it won’t connect to modern computers without a special adapter?)

2005 vtx1800 with hypercharger and aftermarket pipes also fi2000 tuner on bike . Wanting to get more power to tire the tuner is set at 5/7/5 and runs great just hate restrictions and reflimiter . What do I need to do next

    June 28, 2015 at 3:31 PM

    • We can do some custom adjustments on the dyno but the cobra programmer is very limited. We would recommend a power commander so we can real time individual cylinder tune fuel and timing. If you plan on keeping the bike, it will be the best upgrade you can make.

Nels tuned my 2007 VTX 1800C now she’s running better than it’s ever before. After exhaust and a new intake, she was running lean at 2500rpm, I felt it bog down right off idle, Nels adjusted the fuel map through my PCIII, it’s really hard to believe but he managed to find 18ft lbs at 2500rpm! Thanks Man, a great job!!

I have a 2007 CB900F with Jardine RT-One slip ons. Can you flash my ECU? and would i see much of a change in HP or would it mainly be better throttle response and smoother power delivery? I am in Spokane WA and I see your coming to Empire Cycles in April.

    February 24, 2017 at 8:56 PM

    • You’ll need a power commander 3 with o2 simulators and we’d do a custom fuel dynotune. You can also get the optional Ignition Module and we can then also create custom timing mapping. We can get those for you and install them when we’re there or you can find them online fairly inexpensively and install them and have it ready when we show up. Unfortunately at this time we don’t have ecu flashing available to us for your bike

      February 24, 2017 at 9:02 PM

    • That combination of PC3 and IM would greatly improve your power delivery and power output, it’ll be much smoother and have better throttle response

      February 24, 2017 at 9:03 PM

    • Send us an email and we can discuss more details
