Why ECU Flashing?
ECU flashing is not only a more cost-effective tuning solution—it provides access to calibration parameters that many external tuning solutions simply cannot modify.
ECU flashing allows us to optimize fuel and ignition mapping while retaining the ECU's ability to compensate for changing atmospheric conditions. It also gives us access to additional calibration parameters, such as electronic throttle mapping and other ECU-controlled functions, allowing for a more complete and precise calibration.
Dyno Developed. Real-World Refined.
All 2WDW Custom ECU Mapping is developed in-house through extensive dyno testing, allowing us to precisely evaluate and optimize fueling, ignition timing, electronic throttle (ETV/STP) mapping, and other available ECU parameters under controlled and repeatable conditions.
But our development doesn't stop at the dyno; all of our tuning is further tested and refined through real-world riding and extensive datalogging. This allows us to evaluate how the motorcycle responds with our custom ECU mapping across the wide range of loads, speeds, temperatures, atmospheric conditions, and transient situations encountered outside of the dyno room.
By combining controlled dyno development with real-world testing and datalog analysis, we're able to deliver a complete, thoroughly developed ECU calibration for your bike's specific aftermarket (or stock) intake/exhaust combination that performs optimally both on the dyno and, where it matters most, when you're riding your motorcycle!
Free Mapping Updates for as Long as You Own the Motorcycle
Our Mail-In ECU Flashing Service includes FREE future mapping updates for as long as you own the motorcycle. If your setup changes and an updated map is needed, simply send your ECU back to us. You are responsible only for the cost of shipping your ECU.
Our 2WDW Custom ECU Mapping for these bikes includes:
- Custom IAP Fuel Maps (Intake/Exhaust Specific)
- Custom TPS Fuel Maps (Intake/Exhaust Specific)
- Custom Fuel Trim Maps
- Custom Ignition Timing Maps
- Custom Secondary Throttle Plate (STP) Maps
- Custom Quickshifter Timing Maps
- Adjusted RPM Limiter (14,500 RPMs)
- Adjusted Cooling Fan Temperature Parameters
- Disable Stock O2 Sensor Fault Code (Required w/ Aftermarket Exhaust)
- Disable Exhaust Servo Fault Code (Required w/ Aftermarket Exhaust)
- Disable Deceleration Fuel Cut
- Disable PAIR Valve / AIS Fault Code (Required w/ Aftermarket Exhaust)
- Disable EVAP Fault Code
NOTE: With all aftermarket exhaust systems, you must unplug your O2 sensor and plug/block off your AIS for proper functionality.
NOTE: If you unplugged any emissions systems, or caused a CEL (check engine light) to come on BEFORE having your ECU flashed, you will still have a CEL on the dash after we flash your ECU. These fault codes are stored in the dash memory separately from the ECU. Fault codes that are set before sending us your ECU will need to be cleared manually through the red diagnostic connector under the seat with a code reader/scan tool.
NOTE: Adapters for the RED diagnostic connector on these bikes are readily available from many manufacturers (they're the same as most other modern Euro5 motorcycles). The specific OBD2 adapter that we use is available here: https://ftecu.com/shop/obdii-diagnostic-adapter-harness-25/
